Pussy Galore!

Remember my previous post about crafting ADHD?  Well I only went and did it again.  Fiddling around with some left over yarn and watching my cats play with nerf darts an idea for yet another project came into my head.

Mice!  I remembered how last year my beautiful cat, Emily, proudly returned home one lunch time with a present for me… a very unwelcome present, a live field mouse.  She was as proud as punch with it and the mouse was unharmed, me on the other hand was not very proud, I have never moved so fast in all my life – I was quicker than The Flash!  I shot out of the lounge door pausing only to grab my phone and the next thing I was on my drive.  My long suffering husband (honestly all he puts up with from me he deserves a Sainthood) got a panicked call to come home NOW!  Upon his arrival he was pushed through the door while I stayed safely outside with his instructions to rescue the poor mouse who had been backed into a corner by a very playful Emily.

Picture the scene… 1 bewildered mouse, 1 husband, 1 cat = comedy moment coming up.  My husband tried to coax the mouse out of the corner who was terrified and it ran followed by my husband followed by my cat round and round the lounge (cue the Benny Hill music) while I stayed safely on the outside looking in – how I’ve wished since that I had the presence of mind to film it.  To cut a long story short the mouse was eventually saved and released back into the wild, I could once again boldly go back into my home and my fantastic husband went back to work.

Anyway you’ve probably guessed by now I decided to crochet some mice.  Popped some catnip in the middle and sewed it all up.  Emily was out so I popped over to my wonderful neighbour for a cuppa with the completed mouse for her two to play with and this was the end result.

Aren’t they just adorable!  Max and Kali loved it.

I’ve decided to make more and sell them with some of the profits going to the 1st Nuthall Scouts to help raise funds for their impending trip to Lapland for New Year 2018.  They are priced at £1.50 plus P&P so if you have a playful Kitty and would like to help the scouts have the adventure of a lifetime just let me know.

Until next time, happy hunting!
